8/12/2019 – Levon Aronian continues to lead the rapid tournament after two days and six rounds. On Day 2, World Champion Magnus Carlsen lost twice, including to Fabiano Caruana, and is therefore far off the lead. But Maxime Vachier-Lagrave is just a point behind and has momentum. Day 3

Levon Aronian won all his games on the first day of the rapid tournament and maintained the lone lead on day two. World Champion Magnus Carlsen lost his first round game to Ding Liren, bounced back with a pair of wins, but then lost consecutive games for the first time in a long while on Sunday.

Maxime Vachier-Lagrave got back to his winning ways in a big way by exploding up the standings into sole second.

The rapid tournament is a single round-robin with players receiving 25 minutes for the whole game plus a 10-second delay starting from move on.
